Enjoying the Last Bits of Winter
A few days ago at lunch, as I watched my kids sweetly dive in to their yummy pb&j sandwiches, I realized that this was my last year with all 3 kids at home. Jack is heading off to all-day kindergarten next year.
No more loose schedules in the mornings.
No more relaxing in pajamas all day whenever I feel like it.
Soon I’ll have to start worrying about packing lunches, if he’s making friends at school, and helping him after school with homework.
It was a sobering thought.
Don’t get me wrong, there are definitely days when I get excited about the prospect of Jack being in school and spending more one-on-one time with the other children. But I’m also realizing that this season of motherhood I’ve enjoyed the past five years is almost over, and another one is about to start. I’m going to enjoy the last bits of winter while I can.
