Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!

Strider had his first experience with snow yesterday.  It was just as adorable as you would imagine.  I didn’t take the baby out in the snow yet, so I’ll save “Baby’s first time in the snow” post for another day. But I had to sneak in a photo of her because she melts my heart every time I look at her! I may not love the winter, or snow, or wind, or much else about...

5 Things to Expect When You Move Right After Having a Baby

I originally wrote this as an email to my husband with the subject heading “8 Reasons Why People are Crazy to Move Right After They Have a Baby”. It was more of a venting kind of post, but he thought that I might be able to actually give some advice and tips on moving with babies to other people and help them know what to expect when you move right after you have a baby....

6 Months

Our little belle turned 6 months old last month. Those eyes. Those cheeks. Those pouty lips. I seriously cannot get enough of this girl. My friend, Jenni, let me sneak over to her studio with my camera and take some pictures of our littlest bean. It was my first time hooking up my camera to studio lights and I loved it! It really made me itch for my own photography studio one day. Of course I...

Enjoying the Last Bits of Winter

I Heart California

I love California. I love that my parents live there. And my 2 youngest sisters. And my 2 youngest brothers. Well, Chris has left for his mission in Tacoma, Washington. And Sean comes-and-goes because he’s in college. But they’re still technically residents. I also love that the weather was warm enough for Chris to sport his awesome bright red shorts. Can you believe there are still 4 of my siblings missing in this shot? I...

Using Photoshop Actions {Photography Tips}

I get asked a lot how I edit pictures. My husband and I run a photography business on the side to earn a little income to pay down our student bills, and we love using photoshop actions to edit our pictures. There are a lot of great actions on Lightroom as well. I currently use Photoshop CS6, but this tutorial should work for most versions of Photoshop. Actions that you use may have stipulations on...

FREE Macro Images to Print

We started having issues with our computer in June, and in July we learned that the computer most likely melted our harddrive because the fan wasn’t working well. However, instead of just replacing the harddrive (which is under warranty), they would do little tweaks to see if that changed things. I got back from vacation on Monday and went to start using my computer that was finally “fixed”, only to find that it is spazzing...
